Sagarika Ghatge Strikes Yet Another Goal

Sagarika Ghatge was the highest goal-scorer in ‘Chak De India’ and in real life too, she seems to be the highest goal-scorer among all the other girls in her team. The gorgeous actress has been signed by Percept Picture Company for their film ‘Raftaar’ (working title) to be directed by noted ad film maker Shamin Desai. The film also has Neha Dhupia and Aditya Pancholi in pivotal roles and Sagarika has been paired against Bollywood’s serial kisser Emraan Hashmi. Shooting for the film is currently underway in Kuala Lumpur and the film is expected to release sometime early next year.

Inside sources say that for this role, Esha Deol was the first choice but she seemed to have asked for a high price. Sarita Patil, Head of feature films at Percept Picture Company, confirms the news saying, “Yes we have signed Sagarika for Raftaar. She has replaced Esha Deol as we couldn’t agree on the price. After things didn’t work out with Esha, we had a couple of options in mind and our director Shamin had seen Sagarika’s work in Chak De India and felt she would fit the part. Sagarika’s is a full-fledged lead role opposite Emraan Hashmi.”

Salman Khan Films Bollywood's Costliest Song Ever for 'Veer'

Salman Khan recently filmed a song and dance sequence for his upcoming film Veer that cost the film makers a whopping Rs 3.5 crore, making it the most expensive song ever filmed. Others that feature in the song include Sohail Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and the film's debutante heroine, who our source tell us is a Katrina Kaif look-alike model. Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar song Azeem-O-Shaan Shahenshah , so far believed to be the costliest song ever filmed, cost Rs 2.5 crore. The Veer song was shot at Mumbai's Mehboob Studios which is just a few minutes walk from Salman's house in Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. According to a source, "The whole concept of the song was basically Salman's. He also gave a lot of creative inputs while the song was being shot. It featured close to 650-700 junior artists, most of them in a Pathani makeover! It took around 11 days to complete the song shoot." Veer director Anil Sharma confirmed what our source told us, saying: "The cost of the song is close to Rs3.5 crore. It was so high because of the huge sets that we had specially constructed for this number and the specially designed costumes for everyone who participated in the song sequence, including even the junior artists. Trust me this number is going to be the biggest highlight of the film. "I won't deny Salman's immense contribution to this song over all. He has been an extremely co-operative person and I am feeling really lucky to be a part of such ambitious project." What Sharma didn't tell us was the name of the Katrina Kaif clone. "We haven't fixed her name so no point in telling you who she is or what her filmy name is," he said, leaving us feeling tormented. Veer's shooting is on a break now and will recommence with a schedule in England in the month of November. The story for the film was written by Salman Khan over a few years.

SRK Was First Choice For Bachna Ae Haseeno

Ranbir Kapoor’s character RAJ from Bachna Ae Haseeno was originally written by keeping the original Raj- Shah Rukh Khan in mind. But later Aditya Chopra roped in Ranbir Kapoor for the movie, as SRK got busy with other movies. Ranbir Kapoor revealed, “Yes, Aditya got the script written for Shah Rukh. When the role was offered to me, I grabbed it; I wanted to be part of something that was so young, so today.”

Tanisha Mukherjee will be soon be seen performing an item number for her next flick with Kabir Sadanand’s Tum Milo To Sahi. The song will be Latin club song and we would se Tanisha gyrating to some great salsa moves. Director Kabir Sadanand explains, “Yes, Tanisha has done an item song. She is a very dear friend. We have worked together and got along really well during my first film Popkorn Khao Mast Ho Jao. “This particular song is a fun number and I wanted someone to add to the fun element. Tanisha is one fun loving girl and was a perfect fit for the song.” Tanisha who doesn’t know much about Salsa is equally excited about the song, adding, “Yes, this is something new for me thus rehearsals were very important. I will be seen in a pink top and fitted brown pants. This is something I really enjoyed doing.” Tanisha is borrowing elder sis Kajol’s shoes, who was seen grooving to the Salsa in her last flick U Me Aur Hum, ” I borrowed her salsa shoes. Real life couple, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan will be coming together the next month to rock Dubai and start a Jashan with their first single show together in Sharjah. The couple is already an item for movies and endorsements and now they are cashing on their relationship with the shows. Morani brothers who have roped the lovebirds for live performances will direct the show aptly titled - Jashan 2008. A source says, “Kareena has a huge fan following in Dubai. So has Saif! When the Moranis approached them to come together for a show, the first of its kind, both, Kareena and Saif were thrilled! They agreed instantly.” Apart from Saif-Kareena the show also has Minnisha Lamba. The trio would solo perform and the couple will set the stage on fire by performing together. SRK reveals The Truth About His Sallu Fight

Shahrukh Khan, who always maintains golden silence about everything, has finally opened up to tell what he feels about his and Sallu recent fight. Apparently SRK did not tease Sallu about Aishwarya Rai, it was Sallu who asked the King Khan to star in his upcoming home production Main aur MRs Khanna but SRK politely refused as he had no dates ‘coz he had already committed them to Vivek Vaswani’s Dulha Mil Gaya. Salman Khan felt miffed ‘coz when SRK asked him to do a cameo in his home production OSO, Sallu agreed to it without blinking an eyelid, but SRK did not do the same which lead to the fight. SRK who has been quiet for a long time is reportedly unwell as he had a back injury while shooting for Billoo Barber. When quizzed about his fight with Salman he said, “I’ve nothing much to say on the issue than what has already been written. I have too much work to finish.”

Talking about Imraan Khan, I happened to take a sneak peek into his forthcoming film Kidnap and he looks hot! The movie is directed by none other than Sanjay Gadhvi, the man who made Dhoom and Dhoom 2. So you know what to expect from Kidnap. Imraan Khan plays Kabir, a baddie who kidnaps Sonia (Minnisha Lamba) who happens to be Sanjay Dutt aka Vikrant Raina’s daughter in the movie. Vikrant Raina is a super cool and super rich industrialist and the movie is his trial of his love for his daughter and how far he can go to save her from the clutches of Kabir. Super star cast, Super director, and with Pritam giving music, we cannot but desperately look forward to this movie. We hear its going to be a big festive release on Eid.

Movies Releasing Today

The big day of the week comes and there are five films waiting to prove their worth at the box office. This weekend we have a wider choice. I’m looking forward to Ram Gopal Varma’s much hyped movie Phoonk and the response people give it. Mumbai Meri Jaan also tops my priorities along with Maharathi. The star cast of these two movies is amazing and we can expect something good out of these movies if not great. Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam is the kind iof movie I can watch if I dont get the tickets for the two above and C Kompany, well, I dont have a choice. Have to tolerate Tushar Kapoor and my intuition tells me its going to be yet another mindless comedy starring Tushar. I hope I be wrong this time.

It feels great working with him," Bipasha said about shooting an advertising campaign with him for Reebok. Asked about the brand, she said: "The stylish clothes and patterns are amazing. Guess the jury of the Rajiv Gandhi Awards have vowed to surprise people every year. This time they surprised us even more. They awarded Saif Ali Khan the Best Actor trophy for excellence in acting. Ghajini Movie Preview

Much much before the movie is released, people can predict that Ghajini is definitely going to be a good movie. The first reason being - Aamir Khan chose to do the movie, the second reason - Aamir Khan’s Ghajini cut has created waves throughout the nation and the third reason is that the movie is the remake of a superhit Tamil film. It is borrowed heavily from Christopher Nolan’s classic Memento, but as per the Tamil version it will be appropriately Indianized. It is a story about a big businessman (Aamir) who falls in love with a model (Debutante Asin). Both the protagonists work for the cause of poor but end up in trouble when Asin exposes the women trafficking racket in Mumbai. In a retaliatory attack by the pimps Asin gets killed. Aamir tries to rescue but he gets real bad head injuries that he suffers a heavy memory loss. So bad that he remembers things only for a short span. Aamir is determined to seek revenge and is assisted by a medical student (Jiah Khan) in his endeavors. It would be really amazing to see Aamir perform the role of a amnesiac who is determined to take revenge and stop female trafficking. Aamir is the kind of actor who will pay attention to even the minutest expression of his character.

Former Miss India and not so famous actress Celina Jaitley has stood up for Gay Rights. She participated in their Pride Parade at Girgaum Chowpatty in Mumbai. Celina tells us, “Gays are God’s own creation like you are God’s own creation. It is not their choice to be a part of this uncommon community. Why shouldn’t they live peacefully and freely with a person of their choice? Do you know what stress they undergo when people around them treat them with hatred? It not only shatters them but also destroys their progress. They have a heart and mind of their own. They should be given the freedom of living and moving with their kind of people.” It is the first time that we see an Indian actress stand up for the cause of Gay Rights which is still considered a taboo for some image conscious actresses. On being asked why Celina took such a bold step. “Actually I have some good friends who are Gays. I now have known them for so long. They too are sincere and hard working lot. They are like any other homo sapiens. The instinct that attracts them to the same sex is an inborn quality. This instinct separates them from us. But if one goes into the depth of this fact you realize, this attraction is not under their control, then why disallow the gays to live with a person of their choice,” she adds.

It’s finally happening… Bollywood most eligible bachelor Salman Khan is all set to tie the knot but looks like after delivering umpteen heartaches and rutted love affairs the actor is getting a taste of his own medicine as his lady love Katrina Kaif has turned down his marriage proposal. God Tussi Great Ho Movie Review

God Tussi Great Ho is one of those very very forgettable mindless comedies, full of stupid jokes devoid of any intrinsic wit, borrowed concept (Jim Carrey’s Bruce Almighty), full of songs that are merely squeezed in for the heck of it and - is the one line review I can give of GTGH. ts a very predictable story, Arun Prajapati, has bad luck following him everywhere. He is unsuccessful in all of his endeavors including his job and love. One such unfortunate day Arun vents his anger on God for all his bad luck. Then as we would expect, God grants his super powers to Arun for 10 days to set things right. Arun creates a chaos in the world and God comes down to rescue and saves the Day. The sheer lack of creativity and a very dumb Bollywoodisation of Bruce Almighty makes GTGH a very annoying movie. Even more annoying is Salman Khan’s puffed eyes, his aweful dress sense(that pink floral shirt), his weight issues, his loud dialogue delivery and his slapstick comic style. Amitabh Bachchan had a good role but he was limited by the poor script. Priyanka Chopra had very little to do apart from looking pretty (which she didnt). Sohail Khan has few good scenes, Anupam Kher and Satish Kaushik are impressive. You can tolerate this movie only if you are Salman Khan fan. In all the other cases, you will regret watching this movie.

Bhaiya Salman Fulfills Conjoined Twins’ Wish

Salman Bhaiya is up again with his benevolence, so what if he is still not over his brawls. He flew the conjoined twins Farah and Sabah down to Mumbai to fulfill their wish. The conjoined twins wanted to tie Rakhi on to Salman’s wrist. The sisters were obviously thrilled by the gesture of their favorite star. “We are lucky that our wish was fulfilled by Salman bhaiya (brother). He invited us to Mumbai, met us and we tied a rakhi on his wrist,” Saba and Farah told IANS on Saturday.“Salman bhaiya also promised us to give chance to participate in 10 Ka Dum’ (show hosted by Salman)” the twins added. “Salman is much more than a super-star. We will pray for his well-being,” said Shakeel Ahmad, father of Saba and Farah.

Preview: Bachna Ae Haseeno

After a bad start as a gullible lover in Saawariya, Ranbir Kapoor hopes to change his image as well as box office dynamics with his new avatar of a cool, trendy guy in Bachna Ae Haseeno, which releases this Friday. Inspired a little by Ranbir's grandfather Raj Kapoor's acclaimed Mera Naam Joker, it also has some shades of Dev Anand's Teen Deviyan.

The film shows the journey of a man from age 18 to 30 and the relationships in his life. Ranbir will be seen serenading three Bollywood beauties - Minissha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu. Siddharth Anand, who earlier made Salaam Namaste, has directed the love saga. Bachna Ae Haseeno revolves around a young guy called Raj (Ranbir), who is a casanova. Who can blame him for falling in love as many times as love is fortunate enough to find him! It's not his fault that he's a heartbreaker, it's in his DNA. Raj meets three lovely ladies at different times in his life and each of them teaches him a little bit about love and life in her own way. As a teenager Raj falls in love with small town girl Mahi (Minissha), who believes she has met her soul mate. But she has to face heartbreak when Raj moves on without her. Then comes gorgeous and confident Radhika (Bipasha). Despite being older and experienced, she falls for Raj's charm but before she can even share her feelings, Raj dumps her too. After that Raj meets NRI Gayatri (Deepika), who lives in Sydney. Aware of Raj's philandering ways, Gayatri decides to teach him a lesson. She makes him fall in love with her, but is unable to resist his charming ways. The cash register bells have not really been ringing for Yash Raj Films. The banner is reeling under five flops in a row and one can only hope Bachcna Ae Haseeno changes producer Aditya Chopra's luck at the box office. Shot at exotic locales in Australia, Italy and Switzerland, the film's music is already topping the charts. Just like Yash Raj Films' other ventures, there is no dearth of grandeur, glamour and glitz in Bachna Ae Haseeno too.

It was the most awaited moment on 10 ka Dum. Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan face to face on the same stage. That Salman was a picture of happiness goes without saying. Manoj Kumar Wins Case Against Om Shanti Om

Incidentally the photo at court shows Manoj Kumar in the same pose that was used in OSO as a joke. Responding to a petition filed by veteran actor Manoj Kumar, a city civil court ordered actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan to ensure that their film, Om Shanti Om , was aired on television only after the deletion of certain scenes to which Manoj Kumar had objected. Kumar's plea in court said he had taken offence to the manner in which he had been mimicked in the film, especially in a scene where a character, representing him, was shown trying to enter the premiere of a movie; the character was shooed away by guards and "even beaten with a stick", Manoj Kumar had said. The court ordered that the screening of the movie, slated for Sunday by Sony Entertainment Television , would be allowed only if the objectionable scene was deleted. The order also said all copies and screenings of the movie in future should be done without this scene. Shah Rukh's lawyer tried to argue that the scene was only a joke and no offence or defamation had been committed by the actor or the movie's director. However, the court did not agree with him. Manoj Kumar now plans to file a defamation suit on Monday. "We will file a defamation case against the Shah Rukh-owned Red Chillies Productions and its director, Gauri Khan, for not keeping with their promise of deleting the scene before its release. The damages we are demanding is merely Re 1. No contemporary actor can match up with Manoj Kumar's calibre," Manoj Kumar's counsel, Ashok Sarogi, said.

Singh is Kinng was the most hyped movie this season. The Anees Bazmee+Katrina+Akshay combo in a Vipul Shah package is the reason enough. Audiences had decided in advance that they will like the movie and so happens, as the movie truly lives up to the hype.It is a typical Anees Bazmee comedy (ala No Entry and Welcome) bound to entertain the masses. Its a story about the clumsy cute Sardar with a golden heart who wants to do good but messes it up. Troubled by this menace the villagers pack him off to Australia to bring a fellow villager Lucky Singh back home.The story unfolds with a series of comic mishaps that happen as Happy Singh sets out to do a good deed. SRK has no plans of leaving the cigarette

King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan has hit out at a Malayalam daily for publishing fake news that he is going to quit smoking in the next two months. But when the superstar was quizzed about the same, SRK said a firm “No”.The ‘Om Shanti Om’ star also kept mum on queries about kicking the butt forever as said in the interview. SRK reportedly said to the Malayalam daily that he thought of quitting smoking when he survived without it on a 17-hours-long flight. He said, “The idea of quitting cropped up during a 17-hour flight. So if I can do without smoking in flight, I am sure I can do without it on land too.” The ultimate king of Bollywood plans to give up smoking just for the sake of his kids.

Akshay's Death Defying Stunts in 'Singh Is Kinng'

While shooting a scene in 'Singh Is Kinng' on the Gold Coast, Akshay Kumar had to jet ski in deep water but realized that he would not be allowed to do so without an official license. Producer Vipul A. Shah reveals, "It takes three days to get a jet ski license but Akshay explained the time constraints. He did a three day course in 12 hours. He got up at 6 am and got his license by 7 pm. He had to give a written and practical test. The action scene we have shot is one of the most expensive ones that Bollywood has ever seen and has been directed by Danny Baldwin." Akshay laughs, "Going through a theory and practical exam was like going back to school!"

Brett Lee Praises Harman Baweja
